Serial Number in Delivery without saving in VL02n

Hi Experts,

                  I am getting the serial number from an inbound idoc and I am processing it through the function modules SERNR_ADD_TO_ls and SERIAL_LISTE_POST_LS. I am getting the serial no in VL02N. But i have to save in VL02n inorder for it to get displayed in VL03N. I s there any way by which we can save serial number without going to VL02n and saving. BDC may be a solution , but i wanted to know is there any other FM or some other method for the serial number to get saved.
