Directory API's availability for HANA/Fiori

Hi,

I was wondering if is it possible to build an application in Fiori/Hana which uses the Directory API?

I found out that the backend language Fiori uses is Javascript. I was wondering if I can still use the Directory API if I use Fiori or if my application is in the Cloud?
