Easiest first....are you sure you have authorization to view that information? Given your standard sample service does the same, missing auth. would be my first guess.
Second...you should see "special fields" loaded up...."Lead Object" is considered a "special field" of SAP_PD. Your other object will be in your dataset fields. Make sure you "relations" shows up correctly. Also in "fields" you should at least see your ID, text and abbrev. fields mapped to infotype 1001 but flagged as "exclude from operation" (so they just "read").
