I forgot to mention 3rd point.
3. The SI unit conversion is a standard functionality. Its available in measuring document Environment --> Convert unit of measuring point.
The counter readings remains unchanged. In the same way we can maintain for required conversion units.
From screen shot KM with SI units "M" and Litre with SI unit "M3"
