Re: Upgrading from Crystal 8.5 with data dictionaries.

Hi Ian

 

As Brian said, no way to save those reports. There is no conversion tool or anything else that will help much. Now, with luck, maybe the following will help;

 

Create a view / SP that matches the fields that the data dictionary defines (e.g.; it must be a one "table" data construct as that is what a dictionary was.

Open the report in CR 2013. You can download an eval from here:

SME Free Trials | SME Software | SAP

 

Point the report at the view.

The report will not understand the view, so it may throw up a Field Mapping dialog.

Map the report fields to the fields in the view.

Refresh and keep your fingers crossed...

 

I give the above a 20% chance of working out. If this works, there is a way to do the Field Mapping using the .NET InProc RAS SDK. This would take a bit of programming work though.
