As requested I have attached the screen shots (sorry about the resolution) of both SLD, the error and the log file.
The log file for the client gives the error:
Login failed for user "SUPER". Reason: Failed to open the explicitly specified database "NxxxxxxSAP". error 18456, 14, 38
Bizarre because the alternate user should be used not "SUPER"
